Studied architecture since the 1980s at Exeter, Taunton and Edinburgh within the fields of design and regulation. Converting from the drawing board to AutoCAD in 2005, he now uses Trial Systems Drawing Express which is compatible with most other systems in use within industry. Has continued to broaden his studies and experience to include ‘Historic Building Conservation’ at the University of Cambridge and ‘Architectural History’ at the University of Oxford from antiquity to more modern times. Currently a member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) and the Traditional Architecture Group (TAG) with an emphasis on preserving and enhancing our national heritage, whether this be local vernacular, Gothic or Classical design.
Originally formed in 2000, and operates in the Somerset area, although does cover other areas of Southern England. The practice was put on hold for a few years whilst the MD returned to military service, but is now being re-established with an emphasis on traditional building designs, whether this is new build, conversions or extensions covering residential and small commercial buildings. The practice works with other professions including planning consultants, structural engineers, heating engineers and specialist craftsmen including stone masons.
